- 3 ripe bananas (mashed)
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- ¼ cup honey or maple syrup
- ½ cup unsalted butter (melted) or ¼ cup vegetable oil
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- ½ teaspoon baking powder
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon cinnamon (optional)
- ½ cup milk (or buttermilk for extra moisture)
- ½ cup chopped nuts or chocolate chips (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan or line it with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, mash the bananas until smooth.
- Add granulated sugar, honey (or maple syrup), melted butter, eggs, and vanilla extract. Mix well until combined.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients into the wet mixture, stirring gently.
- Pour in the milk and mix until just combined. Do not overmix.
- If using, fold in chopped nuts or chocolate chips.
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and spread evenly.
- Bake for 50–60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Let the banana bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.
