  • Author: Chef Clara
  • Total Time: 55 minutes
  • Yield: 6-8 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale

For the Filling:

  • 4 cups sliced peaches (fresh, frozen, or canned, drained)
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon (or cardamom)
  • 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt

For the Crumble Topping:

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup light brown sugar (packed)
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon (or cardamom)
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) salted butter, melted

To Serve:

  • Vanilla ice cream (optional)
  • Whipped cream (optional)

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Filling

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine the sliced peaches, granulated sugar, lemon juice, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and salt.
  3. Stir well to coat the peaches evenly.
  4. Transfer the mixture to a 9-inch deep-dish pie plate or an 8×8-inch baking dish, spreading it evenly.

Step 2: Make the Crumble Topping

  1. In a separate bowl, combine the flour, brown sugar, granulated sugar, and cinnamon.
  2. Pour in the melted butter and mix until the topping forms a crumbly texture.
  3. Sprinkle the crumble mixture evenly over the peach filling, ensuring even coverage.

Step 3: Bake the Peach Crumble

  1. Place the baking dish in the preheated oven.
  2. Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the peach filling is bubbling around the edges.

Step 4: Serve and Enjoy

  1. Allow the crumble to cool for about 10 minutes before serving.
  2. Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream for extra indulgence.

Notes

  • For a thicker filling, add 1 tablespoon of cornstarch to the peach mixture.
  • To enhance the crumble topping, mix in ½ cup of rolled oats or chopped nuts for extra crunch.
  • Use ripe but firm peaches to prevent an overly mushy filling.
