- 1 small onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
- 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of chicken soup
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 1/2 cups frozen mixed vegetables (peas, carrots, corn, green beans)
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 bag (32 oz) frozen tater tots
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp paprika (optional, for extra flavor)
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder (optional)
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Cook the beef: In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned. Drain excess fat if necessary.
- Add aromatics: Stir in the diced onion and minced garlic. Cook for another 2–3 minutes until fragrant.
- Mix the filling: Add the cream of mushroom soup, cream of chicken soup, milk, Worcestershire sauce, salt, black pepper, paprika, and garlic powder. Stir to combine.
- Add veggies: Mix in the frozen mixed vegetables and let simmer for 2–3 minutes.
- Assemble the hotdish: Transfer the beef mixture to the prepared baking dish. Sprinkle 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese over the top.
- Layer the tater tots: Arrange the frozen tater tots in a single layer on top of the cheese.
- Bake: Place the casserole in the preheated oven and bake for 35–40 minutes, until the tater tots are golden and crispy.
- Add more cheese: Sprinkle the remaining 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese over the tater tots and bake for an additional 5 minutes, or until the cheese is melted.
- Serve and enjoy! Let the hotdish cool slightly before serving.
